The House of the Sidnevs
Detailed description
The building was built in the 1750s, in the "Baroque" style. The homeowners were a family of merchants, the Sydnevs. The family also owned artels for the manufacture of accessories for churches. The house is a remarkable example of the civil architecture of that period. Externally, it retains the massiveness typical of 17th-century rooms, but many interesting Baroque architectural details have already appeared in the facade and, of course, the dress circle, which in the 19th century would literally have become a tourist calling card of any Russian city. Currently, the building houses the Office of the Russian Federation of the Ministry of Justice. The building belongs to the architectural monuments.
