The building of the Moskovskaya Hotel
Detailed description
Architects A.N. Pomerantsev and N.N. Durbach built the hotel in 1893-1896, which became one of the most expensive and comfortable hotels in the city. The hotel building has four floors and is designed in an eclectic style. The facade is symmetrical and divided into five parts. In the central part, there was originally a large canopy balcony that covered the entire width of the sidewalk at the main entrance. On the third and fourth floors, a portico with columns and pilasters of the Corinthian order stands out in the center of the facade. The facade ends with an attic with a pediment in the central part. Renaissance-Don LLC has been the owner of the hotel since 2002. In 2007, a fire broke out in the building, as a result, the building was not used for several years. The building has been undergoing renovation since 2018.
