The building, built in 1890 by architect N.A. Doroshenko and M.M. Sokolova, is a classic example of an apartment building. Cozy shopping pavilions decorated with elegant turrets, as well as modest apartment buildings with small balconies. The first floor is arched, and one of the openings on Gazetny Lane is occupied by the coat of arms of Wolkenstein.
