The apartment building owned by I.V. Kashchenko was built according to the design of architect Nikolai Alexandrovich Doroshenko in 1894. Doroshenko is known for his work in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, where he built many buildings in different styles, from eclecticism to the Russian style. Today, the building houses the Presidium of the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Жилой дом, принадлежащий И.В. Кащенко, был возведен по проекту архитектора Николая Александровича Дорошенко в 1894 году. Дорошенко известен своими работами в Ростове-на-Дону, где он построил множество зданий в разных стилях - от эклектики до русского стиля. Сегодня в здании находится Президиум Южного научного центра Российской Академии Наук.
