Detailed description

One of the most unusual examples of pre-revolutionary architecture in Rostov-on-Don is the apartment building of Alexander Kele-Shaginov, built in 1914 by architect Pozdnyakov. The four-storey building was built in the Northern Art Nouveau style, first used in Russia in St. Petersburg, which came from Northern Europe. Then this style spread throughout Russia, but only Rostov-on-Don was built to complement this Art Nouveau-destroying apartment building. The house is of particular interest for its original windows and their design.
