Detailed description
The apartment building was built in 1896 and is known to locals as the "bad house." It all started with Platon Gershevich Portugalov, after graduating from the Imperial Kiev University with the status of a doctor in 1889, he decided to buy a house from a philistine Ivan Yakovenko. In 1983, the already established doctor added two wings to the house and an additional three-story building with access to the alley. In total, there were 17 apartments in the house, one of which was the reception office of Platon Gershevich.
Several prominent personalities also managed to stay in the apartment building, for example, teacher Mikhail Gnessin, who opened the first public music library in the city in his apartment.
