Senate Square
Detailed description
The square is a highly artistic ensemble from the architecture of St. Petersburg. On one side of the square flows the Neva River, on the other the building of the former Senate and Synod, hence the name of the square. The central element of the square is St. Isaac's Cathedral, which towers over the picturesque landscape. Right next to the Neva River stands the famous monument to Peter the Great - the "Bronze Horseman".
