Diocesan College 1818
Description
* In 1879, Bishop Jonathan of Yaroslavl and Rostov approached the diocesan clergy with a proposal to create an orphanage for orphaned girls. The idea was supported by both the clergy and the people. Over time, the idea of the orphanage developed into the idea of creating a women's church school in Yaroslavl, which opened on October 1, 1880. Subsequently, the school was renamed to Ionafanovskaya in honor of its founder.
