Shelter them. Ludwig Reza
Description
* The orphanage was established by Ludwig Reza, a professor at the University of Konigsberg, to accommodate low-income students in 1834. After his death, the L. Reza Charitable Institution was established to support students in need. The new shelter building was built in the 1880s and 1890s thanks to contributions from university professors and residents of the city. It was a three-story brick building in the spirit of historicism. The facade was decorated with Gothic windows and a high pediment. A two-storey wing is attached to the courtyard. In addition to the dormitory, the building housed a canteen and classrooms. During the war period, the orphanage building was damaged, and after reconstruction it lost its high roof and tower. Currently, various institutions are operating in the building.
