Bolsheokhtinsky Bridge
Detailed description
A metal drawbridge over the Neva River in St. Petersburg. An object of cultural heritage of Russia of regional importance.
The bridge is about 335 meters long and 26.5 meters wide. It is made in the form of a metal girder bridge with one central span 17.5 meters long, which is extended to allow large vessels and ships to pass.
Bolsheokhtinsky Bridge serves not only for railway communication, but also for automobile, because vehicles with limited dimensions can move along the bridge.
In 2006, the bridge was completely repaired and restored, preserving its historical appearance. Today, it continues to serve its purpose and is the most important object of the city's transport infrastructure.
