* Since the 17th century, Zaraysk has been a bustling trading city. It was decided to build convenient shopping malls for fairs and merchants' shops. At the end of the 18th century, a square-shaped white stone building with an inner courtyard and arched galleries housing numerous merchants' shops appeared in the city. There were 136 shops in the shopping malls, not counting the meat and fish aisles. They sold cloth, wool, silk, leather, shoes, cereals, and salt. Merchants from other regions of Russia and even from faraway Siberia met here, and deals were concluded. Gostiny Dvor is located in the historical center of Zaraysk between the Kremlin and the Trinity Church and is considered the main attraction of the city.
