* Few people in Nalchik know where Stalin's dacha is located. The cottage is located in the Botanical Garden of Kabardino-Balkarian State University. Joseph Stalin vacationed here twice: in 1921 and 1929, together with his wife and son. According to witnesses, neighbors often saw the owner of the cottage sitting with his wife and colleagues at a table in the garden, while his son and a friend ran around the picturesque countryside, played and even stole cherries from a neighbor's plot. In the garden there is a stone slab in honor of the conquest of Elbrus by the expedition of General George Emmanuel. There is a swimming pool nearby where grapes used to be crushed. There is a basement not far from it. According to rumors, it contains the entrance to an underground tunnel under the house. But it was not possible to verify this, as the passage was blocked.
