Shoemakers Bridge
Description
Cobblers' Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that spans the Ljubljanica River. It is the connecting element of two districts of medieval Ljubljana. The decor of the bridge is made of two types of columns - Corinthian and Ionic. The bridge suffered repeated collapses from floods and fires; in 1897 it was rebuilt from cast iron. And it acquired its current appearance in 1931 after reconstruction by the architect Jože Plečnik
