Alexander Passage
Description
Architectural style: Eclectic
* Alexandrovsky Passage is located in the city of Kazan. At the end of the 19th century, a very rich merchant of Kazan, Alexander Alexandrov, decided to build an apartment house. The work on the construction of the commercial building lasted four years. On November 8, 1883, an apartment building was opened, brand stores, restaurants and rented apartments were located here. After Alexandrov's death, his sister gave the passage to the city with a request to establish a museum in it, but the city authorities could not maintain such a huge room. Therefore, the building was leased to private individuals. During the Great Patriotic War, the passage was partially destroyed. In the late 90s, the authorities, with the support of patrons, carried out an overhaul of the passage. The facade of the building is decorated with various stucco and sculptures. The roof of the passage is made of glass. In the courtyard there is a sculpture of a mother with a child. At the moment, the passage is considered the shopping and entertainment center of the city of Kazan.
