Gurylev 's House
Description
Architectural style: Eclectic
* Along Gogol Street, three buildings belonged to philistine Nikolai Gurylev. The house at No. 22 was profitable. Geobotanist Alexander Noskov and bacteriologist Vladimir Kryzhanovsky lived here, who began fighting bacterial and viral infections in Bashkiria. The building was built at the end of the 19th century. The author of the project is presumably architect Ilya Bondarenko. A distinctive feature of the buildings built by I.E.Bondarenko is the combination of Art Nouveau with ancient Russian architecture. The Gurylev house is decorated with an Empire-style frieze and window frames with figured carvings.
