* The Main Headquarters Building is located on the Palace Square in the cultural capital. It is historical and was built in 1819-1829. The building was built in the style of Russian classicism. The building of the general staff has an eastern building, where the collections of the State Hermitage Museum are located, as well as exhibitions of modern art. The main headquarters building has a triumphal arch, which is presented as a monument to the victory of Russia in the Patriotic War of 1812. The arch looks like an "enemy trap". At the top of the arch is a chariot with six horses. The grand opening of the arch was on October 24, 1828.
