* We invite you to take a trip along one of the most interesting routes from Petrozavodsk, to get acquainted with the historical and natural sights of Karelia. Amazing rocks, ice–free springs, protected forests and frozen lakes - all this you will see during a winter excursion to Kivach waterfall. KIVACH WINTER WATERFALL: Even on the frostiest days, the waterfall does not freeze completely, and outside it is decorated with bizarrely shaped ice figures. MARCIAL WATERS: Let's try water from several sources, replenish the iron level in the body and hear interesting facts and legends about the first resort in Russia. MOUNT SAMPO: Have you read the epic “Kalevala”? Do you know what inspired this work by the famous writer and poet John R. R. Tolkien? It was on this rock that a film based on the epic was shot, it will be interesting. A BUSY ROUTE: Along the way, we will also find the art object “Valley of the Hares”, the village of Tsarevichi with an 18th-century chapel, the ruins of an ore smelter and the fish shop of Nikolai Fedorenko. The program of the trip: ⁃ 10:00 – departure from the Severnaya Hotel, transfer to the Valley of the Hares. 11:00-11:20 – visit to the Sampo mountain (an entrance ticket to the observation deck is paid additionally, if desired). 12 12:00-13:30 – water tasting at the springs. An introduction to the history of the Marcial Waters resort. Visiting a cafe on the route. 13:50-15:10 – visit to the Kivach waterfall (viewing platforms of the waterfall, the Kivach Nature Reserve Museum and the arboretum, free time). ⁃ 16:30 – return to the Severnaya Hotel.
