* The trip includes visits to two places - Pskov-Pechersk Monastery and Izborsk. Without a doubt, the Pskov Caves Holy Dormition Monastery is one of the most visited in Russia. Founded back in the 15th century and gradually turned into one of the significant centers of spiritual life and at the same time a powerful military fortress, it has never been closed. You will visit the observation deck, which offers a beautiful view of the monastery, surrounded by stone fortress walls. Then visit the monastery, where you will see temples and other buildings created at different times and forming such an elegant, colorful monastic ensemble. It will be possible to enter the heart of the monastery - the Assumption Cathedral, collect holy water from the monastery well, and visit the Nearby caves where the relics of the monastery's saints rest. It will be possible to visit the Distant Caves, the resting place of the monastery's inhabitants, defenders of the fortress, and benefactors, if you send an application to the monastery in advance and receive confirmation from them. Then we will move to Izborsk, the first mention of which dates back to 862. In Izborsk, you will visit the Truvorov Hillfort, the site of the original settlement associated with the name of the legendary Truvor. Take a walk to the Slovenian Springs, which flow into Gorodishchenskoe Lake, where graceful swans live. You will also visit the Izborsk fortress itself, built in the 14th century, where you can walk along the fortress wall, climb the Lukovka Tower, which overlooks the valley and Lake Gorodishchenskoe, go down to the powder magazine under the tower and look into the secret passage that previously led to the water. Then you will admire the beautiful St. Nicholas Cathedral, built in the 14th century, and visit this homely temple. We will remember the history of Izborsk as a military fortress and an important center of international trade, and admire the beauty of this place.
