City estate of A.I. Lobkova

The construction and numerous alterations lasted for several decades, and finally in 1805 the house acquired a look that currently pleases the eyes of residents and visitors of the city. It is a classic noble mansion. The facade of the building is executed in laconic rigor, the windows are located in niches. The central entrance is arched, above which there are Venetian windows, highlighted by semicircular columns with Ionic pilasters. Stucco decoration in the form of floral ornaments and bas-relief with faces is made above the window openings of the second floor. The original layout of the mansion and the interior decoration of some rooms have been preserved to this day. The Institute of Art Studies is located in the building.
