Travel Palace

At the end of the 18th century, an architectural ensemble was built in Torzhok, the central element of which was the Travel Palace. By order of Empress Catherine II, the construction of the palace began. In addition to the main brick building, the Travel Palace complex includes two one-story wings. All buildings are connected by a wall. There is an iron fence with an entrance gate between the two wings. The entrance is decorated with colonnades with a small triangular pediment. The height of the columns is about 7 meters, the diameter is about 3 meters.
