* I invite you to take an interesting trip to the east of the Kaliningrad region! Our region is located in the center of Europe on the frontier between its eastern and western parts, this is the highway along which peoples and armies moved, where dramatic historical events took place that changed the destinies of peoples. The settlements that we will visit witnessed and participated in these events. Our route will allow you to follow in the footsteps of this great story, remind you of the known and discover new things. During the trip, you will learn why Tapiau Castle is so well preserved and why it is better to look at it from the outside, which city Duke Albrecht called "my beloved rose" and what historical events took place in different centuries at the confluence of two rivers and much, much more. We will start our journey by visiting Waldau Castle, where we will get acquainted with the history of East Prussia and the castle itself, learn about its inhabitants who lived here at various times, and also see the household items they used. Next, we will head to the city of Gvardeysk (Tapiau), where the only well-preserved square in the region is located, built in the style of the order cities, admire the Tapiau castle from the side, take a look at the "cat's yard". Then our way lies to the village of Znamensk (Velau), where, in addition to diving into the history of several wars, we will have a delicious lunch with the hospitable hosts at the Tunin Farm cafe. There we can also go kayaking or boating on the Lava River and see the Znamensky Waterfall. And if you still have the strength and enthusiasm, then we will continue our journey and visit the cities of Pravdinsk (Friedland) and Zheleznodorozhny (Gerdauen), looking at the lock of the Masurian Canal on the way.
