Description
Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 3 hours
* Three churches are located on the ancient Konyushennaya streets at once - the Finnish Marienkirche, the Swedish Church of St. Peter the Great. Catherine and the German Petrikirche. This neighborhood near Nevsky Prospekt has long been inhabited by foreigners, there is also a Swedish alley, and Scandinavian architecture is abundant. As we walk from one temple to another, we will also talk about local communities, their origins in the Northern Capital and their difficult fate in the 20th century.
We will also visit the Catholic Church of St. Peter the Great. St. Catherine's Cathedral, which stands almost opposite the Kazan Cathedral. Here we will hear Sunday Mass, as well as look into the courtyard, where a whole complex of buildings belonging to the Catholic community of St. Petersburg has been preserved.
