Our path passes through the pass, which offers views of the Tatar Strait and the Sakhalin sea gate - the city of Kholmsk. After driving through the whole city, we get to the old railway, which was built by the Japanese. We have to walk two kilometers along this narrow-gauge railway. And here it is... a grandiose structure: about 40 m high, 125 m long, and almost 9 m wide. But it's not the size that's impressive, but the bridge design. After passing through the 800-meter-long tunnel, we will continue on to the Witch Bridge. The bridge was built by the Japanese in 1928. It was located as part of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - Polyakovo railway line and is a complex engineering structure that attracts with its length of 200 meters and height of 50 meters. In 1994, traffic on the bridge was closed due to the closure of the stage. In 2007, a part of the bridge was damaged due to a forest fire. Cape Slepikovsky is located on the southwestern coast of Sakhalin Island, administratively part of the Kholmsky Urban District of the Sakhalin Region. It borders the northern tip of Nevelsky Bay.
