Grozny Citadel, the main political prison of the Russian Empire, residential city, industrial complex… On the territory of the Peter and Paul Fortress there are 2 dozen interesting museums, a Mint, residential buildings, a cemetery, many different monuments, and, of course, the Peter and Paul Cathedral – the pantheon of the Russian imperial family. All but two of the rulers of the Russian Empire, from Peter the Great to Nicholas II, rest here. Here, in the Grand Ducal Tomb, the Grand Dukes and Princesses, representatives of the Romanov family, are buried. It is impossible to visit St. Petersburg and not visit the Peter and Paul Fortress.
