The courtyard of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra
Detailed description
The famous monastery outpost near Moscow, allocated to the posad by Peter the Great in 1714 and belonged to him until 1917. There was a monastery hotel, a church shop and the Holy Trinity house Church in the Trinity courtyard. The abbots of the Lavra monastery who visited St. Petersburg stayed here. Russians Russian-style facade was built in 1856-1857 according to the plans of A.M. Gornostaev, one of the founders of this trend in Russian architecture. It was subsequently reconstructed.
At some point, part of the land was acquired by the Beloselsky family for the construction of a palace. The church was once visited by Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, who for some time lived in the Beloselsky Palace with Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich.
