Let's get to the youth of Kerch, the period before our era – in ancient Pantikapei. Let's get acquainted with the foundation of the capital of the Bosporan state, its ups and downs, and the most famous tsar Mithridates VI Eupator. Let's climb to the soul of the city – the top of Mount Mithridates and, from a bird's-eye view, admire its panorama, the expanses of the Kerch Strait, the Crimean Bridge. Let's bow our heads at the Obelisk of Glory, the very first monumental monument built in the USSR in honor of the liberators from the Nazi invaders. Then we will go down one of the most beautiful stairs in Russia, Bolshaya Mitridatskaya, to Lenin Square in the heart of our city. We will see the monument to Tsar Mithridates VI Evpator, get acquainted with the unique, oldest stone temple of Byzantine architecture in Russia and Eastern Europe - the Temple of John the Baptist. We will take a walk to the new square on Admiralteysky Proezd, decorated with a colonnade, a stater coin of ancient Panticapaeum and, of course, the griffin guards of our city. Then we will head by car to the outskirts of the city, where we will get acquainted with the object of the IV century BC – the burial monument of the Bosporan nobility – the Royal Burial Mound. Then we go to the Lapidarium, the museum of stone antiquities, the second largest in Europe after Athens. After visiting the lapidarium, we get acquainted with another ancient settlement – Myrmekium, where unique treasures were discovered, the largest sarcophagus in the Northern Black Sea region, stored in the Hermitage. The tour will end at the Turkish fortress of Yenikale, built in 1699-1706.
