We will meet you at the railway station of the town of Mineralnye Vody, after which we will get into a minibus and go to Teberda, where we will begin our walking tour of the Caucasus, and today we will walk along the valley of the Mukhu River to our overnight stay on the border of the forest. The climb is not great, but you still need to hurry up in order to arrive at the parking lot in the afternoon. Near the confluence of the river and a small unnamed stream, in a beautiful clearing, we stop and set up camp for our first overnight stay. Distance: 9 km.

After waking up and having breakfast, we move on. Our route today will start by fording across the Mukhu River, after which we will have to cross all kinds of rivulets and streams several times during the day. Gradually gaining altitude, we climb the Mukhinsky pass. From behind, there is a stunning panorama of the Dzhemagat gorge and Elbrus towering over the neighboring peaks. Nearby you can see the peaks of the Main Caucasian Ridge: Erzog, Dombai Ulgen, Sofruju and others. We will spend the night on the Mark River. Distance: 15 km.

We are moving on, and today we will travel for half a day between the numerous tributaries of the Marka River and its neighboring Aksaut River. Krasny Karachai village is located at the confluence of these two Caucasian mountain rivers. From there, our trail runs along the left bank of the Aksaut River to a small tributary that feeds this beautiful river, the Kyzyl–Aush. Here we will stay for our next overnight stay. Distance: 17 km.

Our path rises like a snake to a huge forested promontory, cutting into a green valley. Three hours of climbing, and we are at the top, on the Kyzyl Aush pass. Our highest point on the route is 2,871 meters here. After admiring the panoramas, we go on to a small mountain lake, from which flows a clear stream, on the shore of which we will set up our camp. Distance: 16 km.

The fifth day of the hike will not be difficult for us. We will start the morning by following the trail along the Marukhinsky Stream to the valley of the Marukha River. By lunchtime we will reach a small clearing where we will set up our camp. Distance: 7 km.

We continue our hike, and after walking along the Marukha River, we begin to climb the Ozerny pass, from which you can admire the huge plateau abutting the rocky slopes of the Morg Syrt ridge. A little further to the west stands the beautiful Abishir Akhuba ridge, and even further away is the Zelenchuk gorge. After descending from the Ozerny pass, we will set up camp near the sources of the Rapochai mountain stream. Distance: 17 km.

We have a rest plan today. You can just lie in the camp, or you can walk along the plateau and admire the stunning mountain lakes lying at almost two kilometers altitude.

In the morning we begin our descent towards civilization. Our road lies through the forest area of the Teberdinsky nature Reserve, judging by the pictures and avenues, the reserve is rich in all kinds of animals, and if you behave quietly, there is a high probability of encountering a deer or a yak, or even a bison. And we will spend the night near the village of Arkhyz or in Arkhyz itself. Distance: 14 km.

Morning wake-up, an hour later, and we are already in Arkhyz. This is the end of our campaign. From Arkhyz, we are going to the town of Mineralnye Vody to the railway station, where we will be at about 17:00, so take tickets a little with a margin.
