Yelizovsky District Museum of Local Lore

In 1976, Georgy Stepanovich Kuznetsov founded the Military and Labor Glory and Labor Room at the Yelizovsky Military Enlistment Office, where he collected unique materials such as military history, documents, letters, awards and commendations. This room became the Museum of the Glorious War and Labor, which was opened on May 8, 1980. The museum became a center of educational and patriotic activities among youth, schoolchildren and local residents, and in 2006 it became the Municipal Cultural Complex "Museum of Local History Culture of Yelizovsky district". The museum's collection includes about 30,000 items. The museum has a permanent exhibition, a nature hall and two exhibition halls dedicated to the life and everyday life of the indigenous peoples of Kamchatka.
