Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross of the Lord in Altufevo
Detailed description
The first temple was built back in the eighteenth century, it was rebuilt, reconstructed and modified many times. It was closed once, during the war years. It was last rebuilt in 1986. In 1989, a new Baroque-styled baptismal church was built, consecrated in honor of the martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and their mother Sofia. In 1995, the building was reconstructed beyond recognition, which, according to art historians, affected the original appearance of the building and reduced its historical value.
The temple is located on the shore of a pond in Altufevo Park.
