Lake Sasyk-Sivash in the area of Yevpatoria has been the main source of salt extraction in Crimea since ancient times. From midsummer to autumn, a layer of salt, 15-20 cm thick, falls to the bottom. The road to Tarkhankut takes 110 km. from Yevpatoria. We introduce you to the history and sights of the peninsula by making several scheduled stops. The first stop is in the village of Chernomorskoye or Olenevka for 20 minutes. Here you can stock up on necessary food and water, visit the toilet. ✔ Next, we head to Cape Tarkhankut, passing the Karaja estuary lake, Karaja Bay, located between Cape Tarkhankut and Cape Kara-Murun, as well as a unique sand spit. We take the dirt road to the historical monument lighthouse of 1816. We drive past it along the sea through the territory of the protected tract of Bolshoy and Maly Atlesh. Next, the third stop is near a fishery that specializes in catching mullet using an ancient method that has not changed at the present time. You will be able to witness the process of lifting nets and collecting fish. On the same territory there is a symbol of Tarkhankut - a Large arch, sometimes called the dragon's eye, famous for the fact that it was used to film an episode from the movie Amphibian Man. ✔ Boat trip (extra charge): we sail near the "Cup of Love" (a rocky massif extending 70 meters into the sea, among the rocks, 6-7 meters in diameter, a place filled with water is called the cup of Aphrodite, the locals call the Saucer. After that, the whole group moves to the Crimean Maldives beach on the Belyaus Spit to relax. There are no changing rooms, equipped beach and beach cafes. The time to relax on the beach is about 1.5 hours.
