The house of the Iosifo-Volokolamsk farmstead on Ilyinka Street was built in 1882 by architect A. S. Kaminsky. Jozef-Volokolamsk Monastery was one of the richest monasteries in Russia.
Kaminsky built a new building for the monastery, which uses Gothic and ancient Russian details and motifs. There were numerous shops in the basement: textile, merchants Bitepazha and Lyushta, manufacturing, firms of the Tretyakov brothers and Konshin, shoe store, merchant Korolev - on the corner of the house, teahouse, and others. The brokerage firm of Svechin and Rakhmanov was also known.
