Description

Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 1.5 hours
* The name of the tour was given by a line from one of Yuri Voronov's poems, which survived the blockade. Let us also recall other poets who captured the horror of war in their poems: Anna Akhmatova and Olga Bergholz. There are many places in St. Petersburg that will remind us of the siege of Leningrad. They are mainly concentrated in the city center. We will walk through one of these corners of besieged Leningrad. Starting from the main loudspeaker of besieged Leningrad, we will feel a chill run down our spine from the news of the outbreak of war. We will hear the clear rhythm of the metronome echoing in our ears. We will remember the good service that the Yaroslavl cats did to Leningrad, we will even see the monuments to the cat and the cat and get acquainted with them, we will talk about the hearing cat and Maxim the cat, who survived the blockade. At the Radio House, we will listen to the poems of the “Muses of Leningrad Radio”, learn about the broadcasts that were on the radio during the blockade, and even listen to the "blockade tale". After reaching the Fontanka River embankment, we will see a descent to the water with a memorial plaque. During the siege winters, in cold weather and snowstorms, despite the bombing and shelling, Leningraders collected drinking water from the polynya. We will see traces of bomb fragments on the Anichkov Bridge and find out how P.K. Claude's creations were saved. At the Anichkov Palace, let's talk about the children's clubs that worked there during the blockade. Let's remember the holidays that were held in it. So, after making a circle, we will again find ourselves on Malaya Sadovaya. A familiar place will tell us another story about women who, even during the war, remained women and tried to look beautiful. And we will complete our journey through time at the loudspeaker, having heard the long-awaited message about the lifting of the blockade! During the tour we will find out: What was called the “pulse of the city"? What did a calm “pulse” mean, and what did a rapid one mean? How many cats are there on Malaya Sadovaya St. and what are their names? What do these cats have in common with the bunny standing near the Ioannovsky Bridge? What is a “Meowing Division"? Who was called the “Muse of besieged Leningrad” How did radio help children?
