* Bus tour "Leningrad, which did not know defeat." What would have happened if Fascist troops had entered Leningrad? What would the city look like? Already on August 9, 1942, Hitler planned to enter Leningrad and level it to the ground. During the tour, we will try to understand how Leningrad managed to survive and why its inhabitants did not surrender the city. We will go to those places where his past especially intrudes into our lives, hurting our hearts every time. 🏛 We will see the blockaded loudspeaker (on Malaya Sadovaya St.), from where many citizens learned about the beginning of the blockade, and where they cried and then hugged each other, realizing that the blockade had been broken, and then finally lifted. We'll finish there on Nevsky Prospekt at the Alexandrinsky Theater, where performances were held throughout the blockade. We will visit the square . We will see the Philharmonic Hall and remember Shostakovich's seventh symphony, which was first performed in this hall on the day when Hitler planned to enter Leningrad. Then we will go to the Astoria hotel, where it was planned to celebrate the capture of the city on the Neva. Let's go around St. Isaac's Cathedral and see the wounds left on its columns by shell fragments. We will visit Tanya Savicheva's house and read her diary entries leaf by leaf. Then we will go to the Palace Square, where we will see the sign "beware of cats" and remember the "meowing division" that saved Leningrad from hordes of rats. The descendants of these heroic cats still protect the Hermitage from rodents. And finally, let's go to the Blockaded polynya on Fontanka. Here, during the harsh winter of the siege, the townspeople collected water. There is a monument on the descent, near which it will be possible to lay flowers.
