The place where the historical events of the Caucasian War unfolded. The next stop is the observation deck of the Irganai reservoir, the second largest in Dagestan. The emerald expanse of the Irganai waters has captivated everyone who has ever seen this miracle. We stop at Khunzakh and immediately drive to the legendary Tobot Waterfall, one of the highest in the North Caucasus. A large viewing platform allows you to view it better. After Tobot, we climb higher – to the majestic Matlas plateau at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. Having visited this plateau once, it will be difficult to forget it. The amazing nature, waterfalls and views are worth coming here at least once. Five minutes from Matlas is the Stone Bowl, a unique natural monument where winding cliffs are interconnected by caves and narrow passages. The gorge, which stretches for more than half a kilometer, is a majestic landscape where stone walls rising up to 170 meters, like guardians of time, call the traveler to an exciting journey. Walking between these massive cliffs, it seems that the mountains, like majestic guardians, are ready to close in their arms. In certain areas, stone arches are formed, and boulders can be discerned between the walls, as if they had slowed down their path, frozen for eternity after leaving the cliff. This place is filled with an atmosphere of antiquity and grandeur, where every stone seems to witness a century-old history, and every step in the gorge becomes a step into the past, a magical journey among the rocks and time. Then we move on to the unique monument of medieval architecture – Datong Temple. At the end of the 10th century, this church was built in the mountains of Dagestan by Georgian missionaries. We are moving to Old Goor, the land of towers and legends. The local keeper of mountain legends will take us on a guided tour, telling us about the history of the village, located at the very edge of the abyss. Those who wish will be able to take amazing photos in the troll language, a ledge named by analogy with a Norwegian landmark.
