* The history of the women's court in castles and faces: Anne of Brittany, Louise of Savoy, Catherine de' Medici.
As a rule, historical books are devoted primarily to male names that have gone down in history: kings, their ministers, courtiers. I decided to base this author's tour on stories about the life of the court through the prism of a "feminine" view of the era.
How did the queens, daughters-in-law, sisters, daughters, favorites, mothers and widows of the king live at the French court, in these castles? What role did they officially and actually play on the state chessboard?
How could they feel here? How did you arrange and decorate your life? What kind of gardens were planted? What stone emblems and other evidence of their life and presence in these palaces remind us of them today?
Who was the first to establish and organize a real, worthy of the word, women's court in France? What was the principle of recruiting girls and ladies there? What were the routines, hours, and activities of each day? How were the celebrations and receptions held here?
I will gradually give you the answer to all these questions during a day tour of the castles of Blois and Chenonceau. They will become a counterpoint to our leisurely and attentive acquaintance with these castles, which are rich in architecture and interior decoration.
