We invite you to a comfortable trip without backpacks and tents at the edge of the world. The trip will take you through the most beautiful and memorable places of Sakhalin and Iturup. Every day will be different from the previous one. In ten days we will see the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean, climb the Aniva Lighthouse, swim in hot springs, walk along the White Cliffs, and taste local delicacies. We will be accompanied everywhere by local drivers and guides who love and appreciate their region.

The beginning of the adventure

Meeting of the participants at the airport of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. After getting acquainted, we will move to the city and check into a hotel. Today we will take a walk through the historical part of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. After lunch, we will take a chairlift to the observation deck of the Mountain Air ski complex, which offers views of the entire city. In the evening we will have dinner at a restaurant, where we will discuss our trip.

day 02
Aniva Lighthouse

Today we will go to the Aniva lighthouse. Built in 1939 by Japanese engineers, the lighthouse attracts travelers from all over the world. It is located on detached cliffs in the southern part of Sakhalin Island, and it can only be reached by water. We will move to the village. Novikovo, where we will transfer to motorboats. The way to the lighthouse goes along the bays and capes of the southern part of Sakhalin Island and, in good weather, takes just over an hour. The lighthouse has been abandoned for a long time, so you can easily disembark and climb to the top. On the way back, we will stop for lunch at Marble Bay. We will return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the evening.

day 03
Tikhaya Bay

Today we have an excursion to Tikhaya Bay. After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a comfortable bus to the north of the island. After leaving Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, we will stop on the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk to pick up pieces of amber that are thrown out by the waves of the tide. Not far from the village of Vzmorye, we will visit the miraculously preserved Japanese torii, the sacred gate to the Shinto temple. Tikhaya Bay is located on the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk on the east coast of the island. We will climb to the observation deck, which offers views of the mountains overlooking the sea, and the bay itself. We will have lunch with a view of the Sea of Okhotsk. We will return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the evening.

Kurilsk, Iturup island

Today we will fly to the mysterious Southern Kuril Islands. After breakfast, transfer to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport. We will fly to Iturup Island, the largest island in the entire archipelago of the Southern Kuriles, on a small modern Bombardier aircraft. Kurilsk, the most remote city in Russia, with a population of only 3,500 people, is located here. The airport is located in the center of the island, from where we will transfer to the city. Near the city, we will turn off to the Yankito lava plateau, a section of frozen lava on the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk.
After checking into the hotel, let's explore the city. We will have lunch at a local cafe and take a walk along the city embankment. We will return to the hotel in the evening.

day 05
White Rocks

After breakfast, we will go on an excursion to the visiting card of Iturup – the White Rocks. These are bizarre formations of pumice and volcanic glass formed after a catastrophic volcanic eruption located on the shores of the Sea of Okhotsk. We will drive to the Windy Isthmus, which overlooks the Maiden's Tears waterfall. On the way back, we will stop to swim in the hot springs of Hot Waters. We will return to the city in the evening.

day 06
Kasatka Bay

In the morning we will visit the local museum of local lore, where the guide will tell you about the history and nature of the island. After the museum, we will go to the southern part of the island to Kasatka Bay. From this location, on November 26, 1941, the Japanese fleet set out to bomb Pearl Harbor Bay. The trip along the coast will take all day. We will walk along the cliffs and grottoes of the bay, visit a beached ship. On the way back, we will swim in the hot springs of the Tub, located right on the seashore. We will return to the city in the evening.

Baransky Volcano

Today we will go to the Baransky volcano, famous for its hot springs. An Oceanic geothermal power plant once operated on the slope of the volcano, which supplied the city of Kurilsk with electricity. At the moment, there are only rusty remains of it. We will walk along the Sernaya River, where the hot springs originate, admire the boiling Blue Eye Lake and see the fumarole activity. Nearby there are comfortable fonts where we bathe in hot springs. Transfer to the airport and flight to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In the evening, we check into the hotel and relax after the flight.

Cape Giant

We continue to get acquainted with Sakhalin. Cape Velikan is considered one of the most impressive places on the Sakhalin coast. Throughout our journey along the coast, we will constantly encounter grottos, caves, arches and pillars of rock origin. Many of them harbor colonies of birds. The Cape Giant tour will take the whole day. We will return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the evening.

Busse Lake

Today we will have a gastronomic tour. After breakfast we will go to the south of the island. Lake Busse is a natural monument of regional importance. Giant oysters, scallops, sea urchins, trepang, crabs, trumpeter and many other species of marine life live here, in this unique place in every sense. You can assemble all this variety of seafood with your own hands. Lake Busse is especially famous for its giant oysters. Hot lunch on the lake shore with local seafood. In the evening we will return to the hotel in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
