* In the dry language of facts, Veliky Novgorod is home to one of the most famous and significant collections of ancient Russian paintings in the world. The collection of the Novgorod Museum includes about 2000 icons of the XI-XX centuries. The exhibition, which you can visit together with the curator and the author of the exposition, includes about 280 of them. These are 14 themed halls in which, without a competent guide, you can easily miss a lot of interesting things.
