The main house of the estate of A. K. Koptev
Detailed description
The house was built in the early 19th century. Initially, it was a two-story T-shaped mansion by A.A. Dolgorukova. After a fire in 1812, the house was restored by a new owner, Major General Alexei Kondratievich Koptev. The house was a two-story house with one-story Empire-style outbuildings on the sides. Later, the building was repeatedly renovated by new owners. In 1860, Major General Alexander Kazakov, who bought the house, added a second floor to the side extensions. And later his daughter, Baroness Nadezhda Meyendorff, decorated the facade in the spirit of Art Nouveau and made the walls rustic. In 2011 – 2015, the house was completely renovated. The walls were cleaned, doors and stained glass windows were replaced, stoves and parquet were restored. Exact copies of the stairs were made, and marble mosaics on the floor were restored in the lobby. It currently houses office space.
