* What is a Posad? This is the area outside the fortress wall. Since it was forbidden to settle inside the Kremlin until the end of the XVIII century, it is here that artisans, merchants, and burghers. Commercial life was "bustling" in the Posad. Kolomna Posad is special — it is the best preserved among other medieval towns near Moscow and has survived to this day almost unchanged.
Ancient temples and civil buildings of the XVIII—XIX centuries have been preserved on the territory of Kolomenskoye Posad. Anna Akhmatova, Boris Pilnyak, Marina Tsvetaeva and many other writers, poets, and musicians who visited Kolomna strolled along the streets of Kolomenskoye Posad. In addition, there are a large number of museums in the Posad: the Pastila Museum, the Pastila Museum Factory, the Artkommunalka, the Kalachnaya and many others!
