Detailed description
In the middle of the eighteenth century, the palace of Ivan Ivanovich Shuvalov was built according to the project of the Russian architect S.I. Chevakinsky. The section of the building extended to Nevsky Prospekt. M.V. Lomonosov often visited the palace. The architectural style of the building is Baroque. In 1776, the palace was partially rebuilt for a new owner. Elements of early classicism appeared on the facade. The rectangular structure is decorated with columns with Doric orders. Windows with sandricks and pilasters. The central part of the facade on the second floor contains balconies with patterned railings. The corners of the building are made in rustication. The cornice is discreetly decorated. The windows on the second part of the building are separated by tiled white stone masonry.
