* We invite you to take a trip to Jily-Su, a land of warm springs high in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria. The road to Jili-Su itself is very picturesque. Already beyond Kislovodsk, you will find yourself among the subalpine meadows, on the Shajatmaz plateau. This is a favorite location of all tourists: it offers a magnificent view of Elbrus. It is also known as Alatyr-gora, Oshkhamakho, Teiri Tau, Mingi Tau, Kuskamaf, and at least a dozen other names from peoples who live and have visited here. Our way lies to the northern foot of Mount Elbrus. Along the way, we will visit the Narzan Valley, see the Avatar rocks, and on the slope of the Kala-Kulak gulch, rocky remnants that look more like pointed stone castles. Majestic here are not only mountains, but also waterfalls. The emir is 7.5 meters high, and Karakaya-Su and Sultan roar down into the turbulent streams of mountain rivers. The Malka River is born here, and in 1829 a Russian military expedition led by General Emmanuel went to Elbrus through this gorge.
