* Three centuries ago, tectonic shifts took place in the history of our country, during which the young city grew into an amazing and complex one. The passion of Peter the Great did not take into account losses and obstacles, and in the shortest possible time, a port city was built on the marshy shores of the deep Neva River, according to the designs of European architects and engineers, which soon became the capital of the Russian state. For two centuries, decisions were made within the walls of the imperial palaces, which echoed in all corners of the vast empire. The monuments, scattered everywhere in the ceremonial quarters of the city, reflect the era of imperial St. Petersburg, the reigning house of the Romanovs and the significant events that took place in the country, which we will talk about. Our route passes through the main city arteries: avenues and embankments. We will see all the main sights of the city: the Winter Palace, the Admiralty, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Savior on Spilled Blood, Kazan Cathedral, real Egyptian Sphinxes, Peter and Paul Fortress, Aurora and much more. We will also take a look at the chamber quarters of the Spasskaya part and Kolomna, where we will touch on the life of an ordinary person, those "humiliated and insulted" described in the novels of Fyodor Dostoevsky, and finally, we will see one of the most cozy city churches: St. Nicholas the Epiphany Naval Cathedral.
