* During this tour, you will visit the most significant memorials of the Road of Life and the battlefields where the battles for breaking the siege of Leningrad took place for a year and a half. After driving along the Road of Life, you will visit the museum in the village of Osinovets, dedicated to the exploits of sailors, drivers, pilots, doctors - all those who worked on ice and waterways in inhumane conditions of hunger, cold and enemy bombing. After the museum tour, you will go to the source of the Neva River, where you will have a magnificent view of the Oreshek Fortress and Lake Ladoga. The garrison of this ancient fortress heroically held its own for 500 days under the incessant bombing of the Germans from occupied Schlisselburg on the opposite bank of the river. After lunch, you will visit the infamous Nevsky Piglet, where about 50,000 Soviet soldiers died in a desperate attempt to break the siege of Leningrad on an area of about one and a half square kilometers. The last point of the tour will be the diorama "Breaking the Siege of Leningrad", where all the most significant moments of breaking the blockade are captured on a huge canvas of 40 x 8 meters, and a tank exhibit that includes authentic wartime tanks raised from the bottom of the Neva River. After visiting the diorama, we will return to St. Petersburg along the Murmanskoe highway to your hotel or any point in the city center.
