day 01

We will start from Irkutsk at about noon. To have time to go to the market, buy groceries for the road. The first crossing is about 55 km.
Overnight in the Angara River.
On the way, you can visit the open-air museum of wooden architecture in the village. Talci.
day 02
Type of accommodation:Tent
The start in the morning is not very early. You can have breakfast in the parking lot. We go to the gas station in the village. Nikola, in front of Listvyanka. Next, we stop in Listvyanka itself at the museum of the Limnological Institute. There is parking for 1.5-2 hours. We will visit the stunning museum of the Limnological Institute, where in large aquariums you can see all the wildlife of Lake Baikal from insects to seals.
And then exit to the big Baikal and go 4 hours to the village. Bolshoe Goloustnoe. There you can go to the village, to the store, if someone forgot to buy something. Mountains and beauty are far away there, so usually there are no walks provided.
day 03
Type of accommodation:Tent
The start is as early as possible at 5-6 o'clock. Long walk (8-9 hours) to the village. Buguldeika. There you can go or drive to the marble quarry. It's a very interesting place. A huge marble pit, from where many years ago layers of marble the size of a 5-storey building were cut out. It will be possible to climb to the neighboring mountains for a view, from where you can just see Lake Baikal from above for the first time. I have this sight in a lot of photos.
There will be a stop in Sandy Bay on the way. Very beautiful and famous since Soviet times with camp sites, beautiful beaches and stilted trees. The view from the nearby slides is amazing. When approaching Peschanaya, we will pass very close to the island of Cormorants, a stone on which hundreds of seagulls and cormorants hatch their chicks. In the Gerbil itself, all guests are so fascinated by the beach of fine hot sand, which looks greenish under the water, that some decide to swim. Water does not always allow, but if you really want to.
In Peschanka we only make a stop for an hour. Take a walk, stretch, take pictures. You can't stay there overnight. She doesn't hide from storms. And we wouldn't have gotten up without it. People are there! Not our format!
day 04
Crossing from Buguldeika River to Anga Bay
Type of accommodation:Tent
We will also start early from Buguldeika. The transition is 7-8 hours. Or (according to the weather) you can divide the transition into two with a call to the bay of Anga. There is a lot of Baikal beauty on the way again. The further north you go, the higher the mountains, the harsher the shores, and many beautiful rugged rocks. The taiga is gradually ending. Historically, the shores there are treeless all the way to Olkhon.
There are practically no trees in Anga Bay either. But it's still my favorite bay on this route. It's quiet and secluded in a vast expanse. On the opposite shore from our parking lot, I occasionally visit fishermen's cars, but not on ours. No car passes there. And from the mountain there are amazing, just awesome views and panoramas.
If the weather permits, we will walk right to the Olkhon gate the day before. There is already a civilization at the ferry pier. Cafe with bouzas (Buryat very tasty mantas). It will take some time to refuel there. Parking for a couple of hours. Then from there to spend the night in the bay on the island of Olkhon itself. There are low gentle mountains, completely treeless. But the view of the Small Sea also attracts everyone very much.
day 05
Type of accommodation:Tent
We will also start early from the beloved Anga Bay. The last crossing of the open Lake Baikal to the Olkhon Gate Strait. Let's go to the pier of the Olkhon ferry. There you can enjoy delicious Buryat bouzas (like mantas) in a cafe, buy drinks, ice cream and more. There, at the ferry pier, we order a car, fill up with gasoline. There is no gas station near the shore. We are stocking up on the missing products nearby. And, crossing the Olkhon gate, we go into one of the bays on the island. Where we relax, sunbathe, swim, walk in the surrounding mountains. We photograph the beauty of Olkhon and the Small Sea. This is the name of the strait separating Olkhon Island from the northwestern coast of the mainland. The strait is 80 km long. and 12-15 km wide.
And already there, in the bays of southern Olkhon, you can wake up at parking lots when you get enough sleep. We will make small 1.5 - 2 hour transitions there. We'll make a day where you like it. That is, we will spend two nights.
We will walk through the bays and islands of the Strait of the Small Sea, to the devil's rock, to the grottoes in the coastal Olkhon rocks and of course to the All-Good Stupa of Great Enlightenment on the island of Ogoy. And according to the weather, we go out along the eastern shore of Olkhon again to Big Baikal. Look at the seal rookeries.
And at all parking lots, it is necessary to climb mountains, if possible, swimming, necessarily sunbathing until complete combustion. Let me remind you once again: you must bring sunscreen with you! Because the Sun is merciless!
day 06
Type of accommodation:Tent
It's also not an early start, a trip to big Baikal along the southern tip of the island to look at the seal kindergarten. It will take (depending on the weather and wishes) 4-5 hours.
Return to the bays on Olkhon again. Sleepover.
day 07
Type of accommodation:Tent
A day of rest. If he stays, if you don't divide the last crossing into two, you can just take a minibus to the village. Hoosier. There is a central settlement on Olkhon. There are dozens of camp sites, a lot of people, a beautiful holy Shamanka rock. A beach with swimming, several shops and in general a lot of civil things.
There is one day left, which we always keep in reserve in case of travel delays due to the weather.
If the weather is in order, then this day you can just relax, prepare for departure, wash, wash, steam in the sauna, just swim in a warm bay or, finally, ride bagels and bananas in crowded tourist bays.
