* Aktru Glacier is one of the most beautiful peaks of the North Chuisky Range in the southeastern part of the Altai Republic. The height is 4044.4 m, translated from the Altai language, it means a white parking lot or a white dwelling. One of the very first alpine camps of the Soviet Union, with the same name, the Aktru Alpine Camp, has been operating in the Aktru Valley since 1938. Today it is a year-round tourist base, with the possibility to stay in comfortable warm buildings. You can also take an initial mountaineering training course here. The Severo-Chuisky ridge will be interesting not only for climbers, but also for lovers of wild, unspoilt nature. Along the route, you will visit not only the main attractions with the starting point at the Aktru alpine camp, but also see the most beautiful places along the Chuisky tract.

The presented route can start from the airport of Gorno-Altaysk / Barnaul (if you plan to arrive at this airport, we will help you adjust the first and last day of the trip in terms of time and program content).
The weather in Altai can change dramatically during one day and even more than once. The temperature in June warms up to an average of +20 +25 degrees during the day and +10 +12 degrees at night. There is little precipitation, and June is rightfully considered the full-fledged beginning of the short Altai warm season.

Meeting with a guide and a car in Barnaul or Gorno-Altaysk (8:00).

Overnight at a recreation center in the Chemalsky district.

day 02

Breakfast. Transfer by car along the Chuisky highway to the village of Aktash. (360 km/ 5 hours on the way, including lunch).
Lunch at a roadside cafe (in Ongudai village). We will cross 2 passes: Chike-Taman and Seminsky. We will stop at the observation deck, visit the souvenir market of local producers on the Seminsky pass, a lot of practical and beautiful things not only from Altai, but also from Mongolia.
*Excursion to the complex of rock paintings (petroglyphs) Kalbak-Tash.
Accommodation at the recreation center (comfortable room) in the village of Aktash.
Dinner at the cafe. Rest.
day 03

Breakfast.
In the morning, drive to Geyser Lake. Then, by off-road transport (UAZ Hunter or GAZ-66), transfer to the alpine camp (2 hours / 18 km / of which 8 km off-road).
Accommodation in the rooms of the buildings of the Aktru mining center (3‑bed and 4‑bed rooms).
In the evening, a radial exit to the Maly Aktru glacier is possible (3 hours).
Supper. Sauna (optional).
day 04

Breakfast.
Radial access to the Bolshoy Aktru glacier to the Blue Lake. Descent from the lake. (tracking will take about 5 hours).
Lunch-snack on the glacier.
Return to the camp. Supper.

Descent to the Chuisky tract (UAZ Hunter or GAZ-66).
Transfer by minibus to the recreation center on the lower Katun river.
Lunch at the Seminsky pass.
Check-in at the recreation center. Supper.

9:00 a.m. Breakfast.
10:00-15:00 Transfer to Barnaul. (excursion program in the Chemalsky district for those departing from Gorno-Altaysk).
Lunch in Biysk (in the dining room).

The distance by car is 320 km.
