day 01
The heart of Vladikavkaz. Welcome dinner
Type of accommodation:Hotel
On the first day, the group meets and gets to know each other. We will meet you at the airport at any time. But we advise you to arrive no later than 14:30, and the railway station no later than 15:00.
Check-in at the hotel, have a half-hour rest, and we will have an informative tour of Vladikavkaz, its ancient streets with unique balconies. We will introduce you to the heart of the city - the historic Mira Avenue, an ancient church, a carved mosque and an old Lutheran church.
Let's take a walk along the Terek embankment and explore the diverse and interesting architecture of the city. If possible, we will take a ride on the tram, which was launched in Vladikavkaz as one of the first in the country.
After the tour, we will go to a welcome national dinner with a master class on cooking Ossetian pies. You will taste delicious dishes of Caucasian cuisine — hot Ossetian pies, cheese, meat. Appreciate the unique Ossetian beer and araka.

After dinner, we will take you to the hotel, where you will relax for the next day. It will take place in the mountains.

To the fabulous panoramas of Cei

After breakfast at the hotel, our route begins in the Alagir and Tsey gorges, where, according to tradition, we are greeted by the rock monument of Uastyrdzhi, the patron saint of all travelers and warriors, the defender of kind, honest people. He is the most revered saint in Ossetia. This monument is the largest equestrian monument in the world. The sculpture weighs 28 tons. Just imagine 28 tons attached to a rock, how beautiful and powerful it is!
Next, we will drive through the Alagir Gorge and where the Tseidon River flows into the Ardon, we will turn towards the fabulously picturesque Tsey Gorge, where we will be greeted by the Cornucopia art object and the statue of Afsati, the patron saint of the entire animal world.
To get a better look at the mountains and coniferous forests of Cei, we will take the cable car up to the Skazsky Glacier. Here you can take beautiful photos, drink tea or mulled wine. After enjoying the stunning landscapes of Cei, you will learn about the most ancient sanctuaries and temples of Ossetia and hear the legend of the three tears of God.
Next, we will have a delicious lunch, after which we will go to the reservoir of the Zaramagsky hydroelectric power plant, the highest-pressure in Russia. We will take photos from the observation deck against the background of a beautiful turquoise pond surrounded by high peaks of mountains.
The final chord of this day will be a swim in the Biragzang hot thermal springs. The water rises from a depth of more than 2000 meters and is curative. After it, the skin becomes very soft and smooth, and the feeling of vivacity does not leave for several more days.
After that, we will return to the Vladikavkaz hotel, where you can sort out a bunch of beautiful photos, relax and prepare for another eventful day in the mountains.

The Golden Ring of Ossetia

After breakfast, we'll pick you up and go back to the mountains! We will start our day with the Kurtatinsky gorge. The first location is Kadargavan Canyon, this is the narrowest gorge of the gorge, where the Fiagdon River roars and rages at a depth of 30 meters.
Next, we have the Dzivgis rock fortress, the most powerful fortification in the North Caucasus, tower complexes, observation decks, and an art object with the Ossetian letter "æ".
We will visit the highest mountain monastery in Russia. The Alan Monastery rises 2,000 meters above sea level. Then we'll ride a sky swing with a view of the entire valley. From June to September, we will definitely visit the valley of the Midagraba waterfalls, one of which, Bolshoy Zygelan, is the highest in Europe. In the remaining months, the waterfalls do not function, as they are formed only by melting glaciers.
After a delicious lunch, we will explore the mysterious "City of the Dead" in Dargavs. This is the name of a complex of 95 crypt structures, the largest of its type in the North Caucasus. Here you can explore the ancient crypts and learn about the reasons why people of that time resorted to this method of burial.
We will also visit the Karmadon gorge, one of the most striking landscape spots in the republic, infamous for the collapse of the Kolka glacier in 2002. Estimate the scale of the disaster when the gorge was covered with a 200-meter layer of ice and rocks in 15 minutes. You will see the glacier itself and the tunnel where the Sergei Bodrov film crew was searching.
