Description

Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 6 hours
* Car and walking tour. The route of the trip is laid out along the most picturesque part of the Southern coast of Crimea. The guests of the city will see wonderful examples of manor architecture, made in various styles by well-known architects. And the first of them is the Livadia Palace of the Romanov royal family. The palace became their summer residence in 1860. The creators of films and documentaries do not ignore the courtyard of the Livadia Palace, which is also decorated in the Renaissance style with marble columns and benches, evergreen picturesque plants. The palace became famous in the world in 1945, when it hosted the Yalta Conference of the heads of the three world powers. Vacationers will learn these and many other historical information and legends from the words of the guide, taking a leisurely walk around the estate. Then the way lies to Alupka, to the famous palace and park ensemble. The architecture of the Vorontsov Palace has no analogues in Russia. This is an absolutely unique building of the first half of the 19th century by the world-renowned English architect Edward Blore. The building combines elements of Gothic and oriental architecture. The interiors of the palace are decorated with stucco, paintings, unique carvings, and marble statues. The winter garden with exotic plants is no less a decoration of the Alupka Palace. Walking along the alleys of the famous park, you will see lakes, fountains, glades, picturesque piles of stones, marble sculptures. Next, the group goes to the small Swallow's Nest Castle, known as the most beautiful place in the Crimea. At 38 meters high, hanging over the sea, it makes an indelible impression in any weather and from any angle. At the end of the 19th century, a wooden house was built on this site, called the Castle of Love by the owner. And this is how the Swallow's Nest is depicted on the canvases of artists of that time. The building became a stone Gothic castle later. Once there was a restaurant inside, but today there is a museum with constantly changing exhibitions.
