The route that I propose to you includes three of the most beautiful villages of the lake: Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio. • Bellagio, the pearl of Lake Como. Let's start right away with one of the most beautiful villages not only of Lake Como, but also of the whole of Lombardy. Her beauty is known all over the world so much that it even inspired the hotel and casino of the same name in Las Vegas. Another beautiful villa in Bellagio is Villa Melzi d'erile, built by Duke Francesco on the western shore of the lake. The villa is still inhabited by its owners and therefore it is not fully open to visitors. But on the other hand, its beautiful English-style gardens, manicured to the smallest detail, are open to tourists. The elegant and lively "old town" (also called the "borgo") is full of enchanted tourists from different countries. Here, small shops and craft workshops alternate with restaurants and luxury hotels in a tangled maze of narrow streets, passageways and arcades. Then we will board the ferry and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views that open up before us from the lake to the villas, gardens, colored houses and churches of the lake towns. • The next stop is the small and beautiful town of Varenna.
