Description
Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 3 hours
* Tallinn is a romantic city, so it's not surprising that there are many beautiful parks where you can take leisurely walks. There are about 50 parks in the city, many of which are located near the Old Town.
During the walk we will see the best Tallinn parks, palaces and castles. And in completely different parts of the city. And let's make sure that there are many interesting things here besides the Old Town.
First, we will go to the spacious Kadriorg Park. It surrounds the Kadriorg Palace, which was built in 1718 as part of a large estate. The park consists of numerous alleys, gardens, clearings and colorful flower beds. Here I will show you various types of park art from England and France, as well as a Japanese park located in the northern part of the park. We will also get acquainted with the ideas of Peter the Great and the works of architect Michetti.
There is also a Swan Pond, one of the most popular places in the entire park. There are several palace outbuildings along the alley leading past the pond to the palace, and the restoration workshops of the Estonian Art Museum are now located in the guest house and the park pavilion.
After a walk in Kadriorg, we will move to the other side of the city and find out that Baron Munchausen was not alone in his fantasies. We will get acquainted with another legendary baron, and a completely real one — Nikolai von Glenn. He is called the greatest original of those who lived on the eastern coast of the Baltic over the past century and a half. Von Glenn's eccentricities continue, and we'll see for ourselves.
In addition, we will visit an extreme park, see the famous Tallinn cemeteries, more like parks, and pay tribute to many famous people (in particular, we will see the grave of singer Georg Ots).
We will travel by car, the cost of transportation is included.
