John Lennon Street
Detailed description
Thanks to fans of the legendary Liverpool foursome known as The Beatles, a street has appeared in the northern capital. Lucky Nikolai Vasin became the sole owner of an album signed by John Lennon, and decided that he deserved to live not just anywhere, but on Lennon Street in St. Petersburg. Vasin gave good reasons for renaming Marat Street to Lennon Street. However, the authorities were slow to respond, and it was later refused. But he did not back down, at his own risk, he installed a sign on Pushkin Street with the name of Lennon Street. Unfortunately, this street does not exist yet on the maps of St. Petersburg. John Lennon Street is an unofficial landmark of St. Petersburg. It is located in the corner of one of the courtyards in the city center on the Neva River. There are also plaster statues of all the members of the Liverpool Four in this courtyard, and paintings dedicated to the Beatles hang on the walls.
